Still in its humble beginnings, breakfast rides of bulleteers are just starting to become what they are supposed to be. With every passing Sunday the Bulleteers learn to unlearn their suppositions and ride out to breakfast destinations.

This Sunday, we started off early at 6 am from out meeting point at Chhatri gate, near Achaleshwar Temple. Although we are only 3 riders up for today’s ride but we set off straight towards Datia. The reason why we chose Datia as our breakfast destination was that the road to Jhansi, which had been in a pathetic state from last 3 years had finally been repaired. So, for us it was a window of opportunity to visit locations in this directions, before the road become un-repaired with the coming of monsoon.

We stopped at the MP tourism hotel in Datia for our breakfast. We had most of what was on the breakfast menu and spent a good amount of time just sitting there and chatting about this and future rides. From there on, we rode up the hill which was behind the hotel to get a good view of Datia Palace. The road up the hill was surprisingly good, with concrete surface all the way.

Although the day was getting warmer with every passing minute, we decided to pay a visit to the Datia Palace. Constructed by the rulers of Bundela clan, the palace is indeed a spectacle. Its not very big in terms of area, but the simple design and ascent of 7 floors makes it unique. I am sure if there were better connectivity, safer and a more convenient route and more awareness, this palace could attract more tourists.

Anyways, with out breakfast done and eyes stuffed with monumental sights, we headed back towards Gwalior, thus completing yet another satisfying breakfast ride.
